This course will introduce topics related to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and craniofacial growth / development. Children can exhibit multiple signs and symptoms of OSA leading to changes in facial development. Other co-morbidities of pediatric OSA exist leading to poor school performance, improper ADHD diagnoses and other systemic problems. As dentists providing frequent care within the craniofacial complex, it is our duty to be aware of OSA and provide life-altering treatment or referrals.
