According to this trauma surgeon from Ft. Worth, going to undergraduate school at Baylor in Waco during the Branch Davidian compound episode was an epiphany for him.

In fact, says Bryan Cotton, “Many of my friends would camp out and watch the raid.” At the time, he was a waiter at the Waco Elite Café and working part time at the local hospital.

“After the firefight, I observed the triage operations at the hospital and learned it was something I had to do with my life,” he says.

Cotton actually juggled four jobs while at Baylor. He also worked as a radio DJ at the university, meeting Soul Asylum, Soundgarden and Nirvana, among others.

Right now, he and his wife are working on their sixth and final child. In his spare time he?s involved in his kids? activities – t-ball, baseball, theater and track. You can also find him reading Star Wars novels. Daily, he wears a Boba Fett pin on his surgical coat. “You know that line that he says about Han Solo, “He’s no good to me dead”  that’s how I feel about my patient”.
