Full-time enrollment is available in seven classrooms, with children grouped according to their ages and developmental levels.
Class Transition: Transitioning from one classroom to another is ongoing and all efforts at this transition period are made to include parents in this process.

Infant Program

The infant program includes babies from 6 weeks until they begin to walk. The classroom is divided into two separate areas. The infants that are 6 weeks to 6 Infant Programmonths are grouped and infants 6 months to walking are grouped. The program provides visual and auditory stimulation in an atmosphere of warmth and nurturance.

Toddler Program

In addition to experiencing rich developmental learning and growing activities, toddlers master a number of self-help skills. Toilet training is encouraged in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere that enables children to succeed at their own pace.

Preschool Program

Two, three and four year old children learn in a modified open concept environment featuring discovery centers that provide for large and small group activities as well as individual instruction. Concrete experiences facilitate learning through exploration. A wide variety of materials are provided to allow active participation and freedom of choice in a supportive atmosphere.

Kindergarten Program

The Kindergarten program offers a structured curriculum that focuses on the social and emotional readiness of each child and the development of academic skills. Direct instruction is provided in a small group setting. The curriculum in part emphasizes phonemic awareness, whole language, a hands on math program, "Math Their Way" and interactive Social Science and Science lessons.

A full day program (8:30-3:30) is available for children who turn five years of age on or before September 1 of the current year. For the convenience of working parents, care will be provided before and after the core Kindergarten day as well as all Kindergarten holidays.

Enrichment Opportunities

Enrichment classes including dance and gymnastics are available during the school year, while swimming is offered during the summer months. These extra enrichment classes are optional and are available for an additional fee.

Parent Participation

Parents are an integral part of their children's experience at the UTCDC. Parental assistance is appreciated in acting as chaperones on field trips or sharing their time and special talents through classroom visitations. Parent-teacher conferences are held yearly to discuss each child's developmental progress. All parents are invited to participate in the activities of the Building Blocks committee which acts as a support group for the UTCDC.

Building Blocks is a parent organization that meets monthly or as needed to plan, coordinate, and participate in activities and fundraisers designed to enhance our children's experiences at the Center. Previous fundraisers have included candy sales, t-shirt sales, book fairs and more. The money raised goes towards teacher wish list items and/or equipment for the Center.
