Members of the President’s Excellence Society and Deans’ Circle were honored at a reception on April 9, 2014.The event, hosted at the home of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Development Board member and past chair David Grimes and his wife, Windi, celebrated and thanked friends of the university who made annual fund gift commitments of $1,000 or more in the past year. “We are grateful that David and Windi opened their home to host such a wonderful evening for us. This is a unique opportunity that gives university leadership a chance to personally thank those donors who provide a critical advantage to UTHealth,” said Kevin J. Foyle, vice president of Development. This year's contributions have helped retain leading faculty researchers and other projects, including the community outreach dental care program, which provided an estimated $840,000 in care for more than 1,200 patients.
The President’s Excellence Society and Deans’ Circle, in their fourth and third years, respectively, were designed to raise unrestricted funds for university leadership. This premier donor society has expanded in membership and philanthropic impact every year. Gifts made to these funds allow the president and the deans of the individual schools flexibility as new and unexpected possibilities to improve human health arise throughout the year.
