Clinical and Translational Proteomics Service Center

The Clinical and Translational Proteomics Service Center provides proteomics and mass spectrometry supports to the researchers at UT Health Science Center at Houston and the greater research community of the Texas Medical Center. The basic services include protein identification, protein quantification and characterization of post-translational modifications (PTMs) in a broad range of research specimens, from purified protein samples to complex mixtures such as cell and tissue extracts, as well as biofluids. We also provide advanced supports through collaborative efforts, such as biomarker discovery and verification, functional proteomics for drug study, development of targeted proteomics assays and metaproteomics for human gut microbiome profiling. The service center contains the cutting edge instrumentation and trained personnel to provide an integrated proteomics analysis, including sample preparation (if needed), mass spectrometric analysis and bioinformatics data processing.
