Asterisks can be used before, after or in between to facilitate searching.
Departmental searches match the department name as entered into the Human Resources Management System (HRMS), e.g. Academic Affairs.
Asterisks really help here. For example, searching for *integrative* will find individuals in the "Department of Integrative Biology".
In the Advanced Search window, enter only information you know. For information you are unsure about, use an asterisk (*) - see examples below. Only one of the three fields need be filled out.
Example One: Search for person with the first name beginning with "K" and a last name of "Jones."
First Name: K* Last Name: Jones
Example Two: Search for person with the first name of "Mary" and a last name beginning with "J." This search returns all Mary's with a last name beginning with J.
First Name: Mary Last Name: J*
