Research is the engine that drives health care forward. At MD Anderson UTHealth Graduate School, we are leaders in advancing scientific discoveries that prevent disease and improve human health.

A joint collaboration with the nation’s leading cancer center, the graduate school equips the researchers and physician-scientists of tomorrow to transform discoveries into lifesaving solutions. By committing to advancing education and research, we commit to the health of our families, our neighbors, our region, and our world.

Faculty Support

We need biomedical scientists to help solve the toughest health challenges by bridging the gap between medicine and discovery science. We seek out health care’s brightest minds so that their drive and expertise can translate into breakthroughs that benefit our communities.

Our ability to continue, and build on, our commitment to excellence depends on our ability to attract and retain individuals who can and will raise the bar. Endowed faculty positions and funds provide these resources and help us attract and retain researchers who will shine new light on the toughest health challenges and educate the next generation of scientists.

Your support of Many Faces. One Mission. can provide critical resources to fund world-class recruitment and retention programs on par with the exceptional talent that calls MD Anderson UTHealth Graduate School home.

  • Faculty endowments at MD Anderson UTHealth Graduate School will help us unravel the brain’s deepest mysteries. These funds can provide dependable resources in perpetuity to allow us to study the long-term consequences of traumatic brain injuries and neurodegenerative diseases, which will require years of work.

  • Research

Our faculty are leading groundbreaking research in the most pressing fields of biomedical science, including genetics, immunology, stem cells, neuroscience, and cancer biology. At the UTHealth COVID-19 Center for Excellence, our researchers partner with caregivers to improve the odds for today’s patients and ensure that we’re ready for the next public health crisis.

  • Education

Through a top-tier MD/PhD program in partnership with McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, our experts train future physician-scientists to translate research into lifesaving breakthroughs. Our extraordinary people also cultivate the passion and curiosity of budding scientists through summer undergraduate research programs designed to attract the brightest students and create a pipeline of talented researchers and physician-scientists.

Additionally, in partnership with the National Cancer Institute and the University of Puerto Rico, our faculty are helping to train the next generation of Hispanic physicians and scientists and establish an infrastructure at Puerto Rico’s first cancer center.
