What is the most interesting thing about your job?

The opportunity to mentor trainees, faculty and staff through their career development.

What is your greatest professional accomplishment?

Helping patients navigate through their challenges with mental health issues.

What is it about your department/school that excites you?

This is just a great place to be – I love the high energy, openness to innovation and collaborative spirit.

What’s a day on the job like?

Never a dull moment, since I combine patient care, research, education and administrative responsibilities.

What is something very few people know about you?

As a hobby in my spare time, I am a little farmer growing olive trees and wine grapes.

What is one thing that is still on your bucket list?

Finding a cure for bipolar disorder and major depression.

Describe your perfect vacation?

Time spent with my family on the central coast of California with the beautiful ocean, mountains and wine country there.
