CDC, FDA authorize emergency use of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in children ages 12 and up
Vaccine appointments available through UT Physicians
A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 12 and up.
UT Physicians, the clinical practice of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, has open appointments to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
Appointments can be requested through the UT Physicians website. Please note, all appointments will be scheduled at the UTHealth Vaccine Hub, located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. As a reminder, individuals who are at a high risk for severe illness will continue to be given priority for appointments.
Individuals who are under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to the vaccination appointment. If you are driving to your child’s appointment, a self-pay surface parking lot is located in front of UTHealth School of Dentistry at 1940 East Road, Houston, TX 77054. Be prepared for current weather conditions as it is a 10-15 minute walk to the vaccine hub.
