For a needed moment of levity, Environmental Health and Safety presents the infamous “Safety Geek of the Week” award each week to the person who went above and beyond the call of duty.

This week, the award goes to Luis Ostrosky-Zeichner, MD, professor of medicine and epidemiology and vice chair for health care quality for the Department of Internal Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. He is also the director of the Laboratory of Mycology Research in the Division of Infectious Diseases and an epidemiologist with UT Physicians.

Each recipient is allowed to add an item to the hallowed trophy. This week Ostrosky added hand sanitizer as his contribution.
