Celebrating Juneteenth with tea cakes

Tea cakes, which have deep roots in African American culture, were served during Juneteenth celebrations at sites across the UTHealth Houston campus on Friday, June 17. The university will mark the day, which commemorates the day Texas enslaved people learned of their emancipation, with an official holiday on Monday.
