Biography

Erika graduated from Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (UNQ, Buenos Aires, Argentina) in 2019 with a PhD in Science and Technology. Her doctoral studies focused on lactotroph hyperplasia and prolactinoma development. She subsequently joined the University of Texas to study pancreatic cancer initiation and development and is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow in the Anesthesiology Department at McGovern Medical School. Research Description

Dr. Faraoni studies the role of several members of the purinergic system in pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. She is also interested in exploring the pathophysiology governing some of the modifiable risk factors for this disease and its potential effects in tumor initiation and progression.
