Judy Hong, PhD

Biography

Dr. Judy Hong is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Neurobehavioral Research on Addiction (CNRA) at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). She received her Clinical Psychology Ph.D. from the University of Houston as part of the Culture, Risk, and Resilience Lab focusing on mental health and suicide in people of color.

Research Description

Dr. Judy Hong's scholarly work is related to racial/ethnic mental health, trauma, and suicide, particularly in Black and Latinx populations as well as justice-involved/incarcerated populations. Currently, Dr. Hong is involved in both patient treatment at the Innovations Addiction Treatment Clinic at UTHealth and research to extend knowledge on risk and protective factors for substance use in people of color.
