IoA Engages in Precinct 4 Halloween Health Fair for Older Adults

The UTHealth Institute on Aging (IoA) participated in a Harris County Precinct 4 health fair distributing health information pamphlets and handbooks to older adult participants and caregivers. The free health fair hosted by the Thomas A. Glazier Senior Center on October 31, 2023 brought together a diversity of exhibitors providing wellness booths and health information about community services. The health fair was a great opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of older adults in the community by promoting health and well-being. By organizing this event on Halloween, the Glazier Center sought to combine the spirit of fun and festivity with a strong focus on senior health.

The IoA and other participating organizations were afforded dedicated booth space to exhibit their information and services. Participating organizations dressed up in Halloween costumes and provided treats to share with attendees. Booths were decorated in Halloween themes and organizations used creative approaches to engage and educate older adult attendees. The Institute on Aging and other organizations participating made the Halloween Health Fair a memorable and beneficial event for older adults and caregivers seeking community resources and information.
