The technologies with which you will work, design, and implement as a member of the IT department at UTHealth are as diverse as they are cutting edge. Database design and analysis, large scale datacenter operations, software development, application configuration, clinical technology, business analysis, system administration, network engineering, information security, and digital forensics are examples of the exciting work with which IT is involved.

Some Positions Include:

Systems Administrator

Responsible for the day-to-day activities related to system stability, reliability, and security.

Programmer Analyst III

Provides the technical skills involving writing and documenting moderate to complex applications and programs.

Clinical Applications Support Analyst

Provides entry level support for end users on the Practice Management System (PM), Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ancillary systems.  Utilizes reporting system to document and assign reported customer issues.  Works with senior analysts in the troubleshooting, testing and resolution of reported system issues. 

Application Support Specialist

Provides front-line functional and technical user support for the core modules of the EMR and/or billing applications to ensure that the EMR and/or billing applications meet business needs, and participates in basic system maintenance.

Network Security Analyst

Assists in the design, implement and monitor IT security program with a focus on identifying network vulnerabilities and then designing, planning and executing solutions of routine to moderate complexity and scope with regular supervision.

Systems Administrator

Utilizes appropriate procedures and processes necessary to ensure the safety and integrity of organizational servers, data systems, file structures, computer operating systems and computer system software.

Web Developer

Interfaces with department administrators in the content management of the department(s) Web site.

Programmer Analyst

Provides technical skills required to translate system analysis type definitions to reports, charts, and diagrams, from which programmers can efficiently perform their tasks.  Responsible for program definitions limited to specific components of the overall system.
