CPRIT honors Zhiqiang An for cancer research

Zhiqiang An, PhD, a nationally recognized cancer researcher, inventor, and drug discovery leader at UTHealth Houston, has been honored with the Texans Conquer Cancer Award from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT), recognizing his groundbreaking contributions to cancer research and the development of innovative therapies aimed at improving outcomes for patients with cancer.

A lifesaving legacy: Honor’s HEROES expands recovery support across Texas

After the loss of their daughter, Honor, Barry and Sherry Wallace made a deeply personal commitment to strengthen overdose response and recovery outreach for individuals and families facing addiction. In recognition of their generosity, the Houston Emergency Opioid Engagement System (HEROES) has been renamed Honor Nicole Wallace’s HEROES, expanding peer recovery support, real-time intervention, and connection to care across Texas.
