John P. Higgins, M.D., specializes in non-invasive cardiology including nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and positron emission tomography, as well as exercise physiology and sports medicine. He has researched the effects of sports and energy beverages on the body and has led research on a program to detect heart problems in children and prevent sudden cardiac arrest, particularly in athletes.

Walter Lowe, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a subspeciality in sports medicine. Lowe studied under the legendary baseball doctor Frank Jobe, M.D., who pioneered a procedure to repair injured pitching arms called “Tommy John Surgery.” Dr. Lowe specializes in the care of injured knees, shoulders or elbows. He is a member of the National Football League Physicians Society and the Association of Professional Team Physicians.

Summer Ott, Psy.D., specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sports-related concussions and was very instrumental in getting the Texas Senate Bill 2038, also known as Natasha’s Law, approved.  The bill establishes proper management and return-to-play guidelines for concussed school-aged athletes and was signed into law in June 2011.  In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Ott has co-authored publications in scholarly journals in the area of neuropsychological assessment and frequently conducts presentations regarding proper management of concussion.  Her current research interests include gender differences in recovery from sports related concussion and proper baseline testing of athletes. 

Jocelyn Szeto, M.D.

Jocelyn Szeto, M.D., specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sports or activity-related illnesses or injuries. Her clinical interests include ultrasound-guided procedures, concussion evaluation and management and the care of the female athlete. She received a medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed a fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, Greenville, South Carolina.
