Gabriel Aisenberg, M.D.

Board-certified internist Gabriel Aisenberg, M.D., is trained to apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment and compassionate care of adults. Aisenberg graduated from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at Sanatorio Mitre in Buenos Aires, followed by an infectious diseases fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and an internal medicine residency at the UTHealth Medical School. Aisenberg speaks fluent Spanish and has been interviewed by English and Spanish language radio and television stations. Aisenberg can also speak about the Ebola virus and the current outbreak.

Herbert L. DuPont, M.D., has served as infectious disease epidemiologist for the Centers for Disease Control and as president of both the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases. DuPont is the author of over 650 scientific papers and 19 textbooks. He can discuss Ebola, influenza, travel medicine, disease outbreaks, intestinal infections and acute diarrhea, food-borne illnesses and norovirus as he was one of the researchers who discovered the virus.

Charles Ericsson, M.D.

Charles D. Ericsson, M.D., is an infectious disease and travel medicine specialist and has conducted clinical studies on traveler’s diarrhea in Guadalajara, Mexico. Ericsson can address food-borne diseases that plague some cruise ships, deep vein thrombosis that can afflict travelers on prolonged air flights and infectious diseases, such as Ebola, that are more common in other parts of the world. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Travel Medicine and past president of the International Society of Travel Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Joseph McCormick, M.D.

Joseph McCormick, M.D., is an infectious disease specialist and expert on viral hemorrhagic fevers, including Ebola, Lassa and Marburg. McCormick was involved in investigating the first-recorded Ebola outbreak in 1976. His experiences are chronicled in a book coauthored with his wife, Susan Fisher Hoch, M.D., titled “Level 4: Virus Hunters of the CDC.” He has intimate knowledge of West Africa and can provide his unique insights into the public health aspects of the current Ebola outbreak. He can also provide an interesting perspective on the designation of “emerging diseases.”
