Graduate School welcomes Jennifer Price to academic affairs office
Jennifer Price, MBA, MHRM, joined the Office of Academic Affairs at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences as a program manager this month.
In her new role, Price will manage faculty affairs, fostering a major focus on GSBS faculty membership and engagement. She will work closely with the GSBS faculty to ensure the GSBS Executive Committee is staffed and has proper resources and support from the academic affairs office. Price will also handle web editing for the GSBS faculty.
Before joining us at the GSBS, Jennifer held multiple administrative and program positions within the Medical Center, and had been with MD Anderson Cancer Center since 2001. With her seven years of experience in the Department of Faculty Academic Affairs at MD Anderson, she is a phenomenal fit for her current role as program manager of faculty affairs at the Graduate School.
Price reveres the quote by Booker T. Washington that states “success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.” This is the philosophy with which she bases her professional and personal endeavors.
Price graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a BA in business and sociology before earning her MBA and MHRM from DeVry University – Keller Graduate School of Management.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, she has volunteered her time at Food Give-a-Ways given by her church.
“It has been a joy to see how appreciative the families are to know that there are caring people who will set aside their time to give back to those in need,” says Price. “It has been two years now, taking place twice a month, whether in the heat, rain, or cold. I feel blessed to have a connection with each family.”
Price has been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years, and finds motivation in working with faculty to make the pursuit of higher education in healthcare as smooth as possible.
