Heart Health

Support the research, care, and community outreach that help prevent and treat the nation's leading cause of death.

Heart Health

As the number one cause of death across the nation, cardiovascular disease can bring devastating consequences to patients and their families. With rising rates of diabetes and obesity—as well as the long-term cardiovascular effects emerging from COVID-19—people throughout Texas are at increasing risk of a major cardiac event.

UTHealth is distinctly positioned to rise to the challenges of treating heart disease. Here, scientific discovery, education, and clinical care connect to tackle cardiovascular conditions from every angle. Our experts leverage broad skills in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and pediatric cardiology to provide compassionate, specialized care that begins before a patient is born and lasts throughout their life.

Thanks to our innovations in preventive treatments, cardiac imaging, and surgical techniques, people are more likely to receive life-saving care than ever before. Yet—with more than 30% of Houstonians suffering from high blood pressure—there is still work to be done to improve heart health.

Your support of Many Faces. One Mission. can help stop the clock on heart disease and bring new hope to patients throughout our communities. With your commitment, we can create better treatments, better training programs, and better outcomes for people living with heart disease.
