Designed to integrate advanced technology into everyday living, the apartment showcased innovative solutions for enhancing patient independence and improving health monitoring. Dr. Johnson provided a detailed walkthrough, highlighting features such as voice-activated systems, remote health monitoring devices, and adaptive tools for individuals with mobility challenges. This fully furnished, one-bedroom home is housed within the Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston’s building in the Texas Medical Center. This laboratory is equipped with sensors, monitors, robots, and other devices that researchers use to test technologies to help monitor self-management of chronic diseases and detect health and behavior changes in aging and disabled adults.”
