Biography

Dr. Balasubramanian is Professor in Department of Epidemiology, UTHealth School of Public Health. She is also the Dean of the UTSPH Dallas campus. Dr. Balasubramanian’s expertise is in developing rigorous epidemiologic and mixed-methods approaches to design and evaluate multi-level interventions in primary care settings with a focus on enhancing primary care capacity to enable them to provide high-quality, whole-person care. Dr. Balasubramanian’s research training and experience is complemented with her clinical training as a general practitioner. Dr. Balasubramanian brings to the Institute her expertise in epidemiology, primary care and care health services, and implementation science, in a field that is highly relevant to vulnerable patients with complex healthcare needs.
