The Postdoctoral Implementation Science Research Program at the UTHealth Houston Institute for Implementation Science aims to provide outstanding research and educational opportunities within the setting of a state-of-the-art medical and research center. The Institute seeks candidates who demonstrate interest and expertise in interdisciplinary implementation science. The Postdoctoral Implementation Science Research program values individuals from diverse educational and societal backgrounds for the unique perspectives they bring to close the research-to-practice gap and accelerate the use of evidence to improve population health and quality of life.
Under the guidance of the UTHealth Houston Institute for Implementation Science Co-Directors Bijal Balasubramanian, M.B.B.S., Ph.D., and Maria E. Fernandez, Ph.D., the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will contribute to the design, development, and execution of implementation research studies, summarize findings, and publish results in peer-reviewed journals. Faculty mentors, who are leaders in implementation science, translational research, and clinical research, will offer both formal and informal training, fostering extensive collaboration and professional development opportunities for the fellow.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will also receive training and supervision in the application of implementation science theories and methods, implementation mapping, and measurement of implementation constructs, outcomes, and processes. The fellow will gain experience participating in implementation research grant applications and have the opportunity to participate in global implementation science efforts with other Centers and Schools across UTHealth Houston.
