The UTHealth Consortium on Aging announces two funding opportunities for members
The Harry E. Bovay, Jr. Foundation Geriatric Studies for Junior Faculty Program
The goal of the Harry E. Bovay, Jr. Foundation Endowment to Support Geriatric Research and Education is to integrate geriatrics studies across all the schools of the health science center, increase collaboration and cooperation between school faculties, instill geriatrics studies into all student curriculum, and foster future geriatrics practitioners.
The Harry E. Bovay, Jr. Foundation Endowment to Support Geriatric Research and Education Program will provide $10,000 per year, with grants in amounts up to $5,000 to support gerontology-focused studies by junior faculty investigators at UTHealth. The purpose of these grants is to provide funding for pilot work that will help faculty be successful in obtaining larger extramural grants.

The UTHealth Consortium on Aging Geriatric Interprofessional Education Program
The goal of the Interprofessional Geriatric Education Program is to train health care professionals across disciplines to create a pipeline of experts with access to the latest advances in care and prevention for older adult patients.
The Geriatric Interprofessional Education Program, Funded by the Tasajillo Foundation, will provide $10,000 toward grants in amounts up to $5,000 to support gerontology-focused educational projects by faculty at UTHealth, with preference given to applicants from UTHealth schools without an established geriatric curriculum. The purpose of these grants is to provide funding for educational projects or interventions that will help train more professionals in geriatric best practices.
