Fall semester starts at UTHealth Houston!

The fall 2026 semester is here, and all seven schools across UTHealth Houston are buzzing with activity as a new academic year gets underway.
From first-day classes to welcome events, the semester is filled with opportunities to connect, explore, and make the most of the months ahead.
School start dates
For those just beginning their educational journey or returning to continue their studies, these dates mark the official start of the fall 2026 semester.
- Aug. 3: McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston
- Aug. 17: UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry
- Aug. 31: McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston
- Aug. 31: UT MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences
- Aug. 31: UTHealth Houston School of Public Health
- Aug. 31: Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston
- Aug. 31: UTHealth Houston School of Behavioral Health Sciences
Celebrating with Salutation
To help ring in the new academic year, the Student InterCouncil, in partnership with the Office of the President, is hosting Salutation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Cooley University Life Center, 7440 Cambridge St.
Celebrating its 28th year, this signature welcome event brings together all seven schools and allows students to connect with UTHealth Houston services and resources, meet their deans and student government leaders, build connections with fellow students across the university, and enjoy giveaways and other offerings.
