UCSC December 2025 Meeting Highlights

• Artificial Intelligence: Paid versions of Copilot and ChatGPT were institutionally approved, reducing costs to $16 per user/month. The HOOP 235 AI Governance policy was approved.
• Governance & Policy: Faculty governance changes were implemented per Regent’s rules, with representatives now appointed by the President. The President’s Faculty Advisory Council was disbanded.
• Parking & Transportation: Shuttle service contract renewed with new buses; parking cost containment remains under review with follow-up planned.
• Well-being & Development: Mental Health First Aid training announced; upcoming Brown Bag sessions include Benefits and AI-focused topics.
• Engagement & Fundraising: Fun Fest revenue will provide for upcoming educational awards; Valentine fundraising initiatives planned.
