Message from FY22 Chair

Lexus Bradford

It is a privilege and honor to represent the classified staff at UTHealth as the fiscal year 2022 Chair of the University Classified Staff Council (UCSC). UCSC provides our classified staff with several opportunities to increase our presence and promotes a positive impact at UTHealth.

As the new fiscal year begins, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new and returning UCSC Members. I want to express my gratitude to every UCSC member, committee chair, and officers; each of you has an important role and responsibility to the University, our President and Executive Leadership Team at UTHealth.

The University Classified Staff Council's commitment is to advise the President and the Executive Council on important matters involving classified employees. We are composed of five committees; each committee is responsible for developing and conducting various activities during the fiscal year.

As we all face the many challenges of this global pandemic, I want to say thank you again for your dedication and hard work. My goal as UCSC Chair is to focus on giving back to the community by hosting a donation drive for the Star of Hope this fall. I believe this will be a great opportunity for UCSC to unite for an amazing cause. In addition, UCSC will provide insightful Brown Bag Sessions and Workshops to our classified staff and will continue to fundraise for our Educational Awards.

I want to thank President Colasurdo, Mr. Kevin Dillon and UCSC’s executive sponsor, Mr. Eric Fernette for supporting our council. With the support of our Executive Leadership Team, we are able to continue our mission and discuss important matters that affect the classified staff at UTHealth.

I am committed to having a great FY22 as the University Classified Staff Council. When we all come together, we have an impact and we make a difference. Please contact me if you have any issues or concerns at UTHealthUCSC@uth.tmc.edu
