Resume Writing Workshop - For Postdoctoral Research Fellows
The Postdoctoral Association (PDA) is excited to invite you to a Resume Writing Workshop.
Please read the details below for registration and participation details.
Workshop Description: This interactive workshop will help you create an effective resume that can be used to apply to a spectrum of positions in the scientific field.
Highlights:
- Differences between a CV and a resume
- Resume structure and formatting, advice to overcome AI Resume Screening
- Content development: Summary/objective statement, bullet points, and action verbs to highlight accomplishments
- Showcasing skills and highlighting achievements and quantifiable results
- Additional sections
- Exercises and questions
- Post-application advice
Instructor: Elizabeth O. Hileman, Ph.D. Manager, Technical Writing & Publications at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Previously, Director of the GSBS Writing Studio at UTMB. She has extensive experience in scientific communication and career development.
Workshop Participation: This is an in-person workshop. Attendees are required to bring a recent copy of their resumes which will be edited during the workshop.
Attendance is limited to 30 UTHealth Postdoctoral Research Fellows. Therefore, please ensure your commitment to attending upon registration to secure your place in this invaluable workshop. If you find you will be unable to attend, you are required to let us know immediately to accommodate those on the waiting list. Lunch will be provided.
