Join TEPHI for an engaging session with Susan Schaff, DVM, MPH, as she explores how zoonotic diseases uniquely affect vulnerable populations. The discussion will spotlight Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and the New World Screwworm, two emerging health concerns that highlight the urgent need for awareness, prevention, and equitable response strategies in public health. 
Dr. Schaff serves as the Regional Zoonosis Control Veterinarian for Texas DSHS Public Health Region 9/10. She holds a BA in Biology from Boston University, an MPH from UC Berkeley, and a DVM from Colorado State University. Combining a strong background in veterinary medicine and public health, Dr. Schaff is dedicated to advancing zoonotic disease prevention and animal health.
