Presentation Summary/Learning Objectives:

  • Define resilience and its role in personal wellbeing: Participants will be able to describe what resilience means, recognize its importance in navigating stress, and understand how it supports personal and professional growth.
  • Identify personal signs of stress and recovery: Participants will learn to notice their own stress responses, reflect on how quickly they recover, and recognize opportunities to strengthen their resilience in daily life.
  • Practice and apply resilience-building strategies: Participants will be able to explore and try practical skills such as mindfulness, reframing challenges, and self-care practices that can be integrated into everyday routines.

Ela Ashtari
Associate Professor Non-Tenure Clinical

Dr. Ela Ashtari is a licensed psychologist and award-winning educator. She has presented nationally and locally on topics such as trauma-informed care, effective feedback in clinical supervision, self-care for essential workers, and strategies to promote resilience and mental health in the workplace. Beyond workplace wellness, Dr. Ashtari is deeply engaged in clinical service, training the next generation of psychologists and physicians, and advancing scholarship in forensic psychology and psychiatric care. Her career reflects a commitment to strengthening both individual well-being and the systems in which people work and heal.
