Hot Topics in Aging: Supporting aging in place
Event Description
The Phyllis Gough Huffington Endowed Lecture Series and the UTHealth Houston Consortium on Aging present the 7th annual Hot Topics in Aging, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Cooley University Life Center, 7440 Cambridge St.
This hybrid virtual/in-person conference will discuss “Supporting Aging in Place,” and will host a panel of interprofessional speakers.
Subjects include:
- Preventing frailty
- Technology to support aging in place
- Social isolation and loneliness in dementia
- Interprofessional collaborative problem solving for aging in place
- Aging and dementia in adults with intellectual disabilities
- Access to transportation
- Supportive role of the long-term care ombudsman
The lecture is approved for the AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. There is a $20 fee for all continuing education credits for all disciplines.
