Throughout his career, Dr. Kuchel has focused on efforts to better understand the biology and physiology of aging in the context of inter-individual heterogeneity involving host defense, mobility, cognition and bladder control, with the goal of discovering and testing interventions designed to enhance function and independence in older adults. He and colleagues have conceptualized this approach as Precision Gerontology.
