The Student InterCouncil (SIC) is awarding three $1,000 scholarships to current UTHealth Houston students this year (one recipient per scholarship).
UTHealth Houston students who are currently enrolled in fall 2023 classes are eligible to apply for the SIC Academic Achievement Award and Toshi Nikaidoh Service Award. Those involved in student leadership are eligible for the Shohrae Hajibashi Memorial Leadership Award.
Review and consideration for the academic achievement and service awards will be conducted by the SIC Scholarship Committee, so members of the committee are not eligible to apply for those awards. The scholarships will be disbursed in spring 2024; therefore, recipients will also need to be enrolled through spring 2024.
Visit the SIC scholarship opportunities webpage for more detailed information and to access the online applications for each scholarship. Please take the time to look over each scholarship’s requirements and instructions, as they differ.
Applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31.
For questions regarding the SIC scholarship awards, contact SIC Administrative Advisor Tanedra Booker at Tanedra.Booker@uth.tmc.edu.

The purpose of the SIC shall be to improve the quality of student life at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) by providing an opportunity for the voice of the student body to be expressed and for student-based solutions to be advanced in coordination with administrative policies.
Welcome! As Historian, my responsibilities include being Editor-in-Chief of the SIC student newsletter, Student Pulse. The Pulse is released quarterly to help develop awareness and communication among the students of all six UTHealth schools. In order to achieve this goal, the SIC needs students to send us news from your school or student organization. Send us announcements about upcoming events, scholarship awards, fundraising opportunities, volunteering, etc. Together we can work toward a more unified UTHealth student community and support one another toward our common endeavors.
Please send your announcements and information to sicgov@uth.tmc.edu with a subject line of “Student Pulse Article”.
