Virtual Collaborative Workshop: Epigenetics of Disease
When & Where
9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Join us for a virtual collaborative workshop chaired by Consuelo Walss-Bass, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences on 12/03/2020. Epigenetic modifications, such as DNA methylation, miRNA’s, long non-coding RNA’s, and histone modifications, play a crucial role in development of disorders, including psychiatric disorders, neurological disorders, and cancer. This collaborative workshop will bring together scientists from across UTHealth who are carrying out cutting-edge research to understand the mechanisms by which epigenetic modifications modulate gene expression and ultimately can affect people's health and influence development of disorders. Aspects regarding modes of epigenetic regulation, association with complex traits, and influences on aging, will be discussed.
