Michael J. Parker, MD, Associate Dean and Assistant Professor for Online Learning and Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His focus is on using technology in innovative ways to enhance medical education. In his role as Faculty Director of HMX and Associate Dean for Online Learning at Harvard Medical School, he is growing and running a team that creates effective and interactive material for learning fundamental medical topics and delivers this material to the world via an online platform.
The new online courses Dr. Parker and his team have developed and continues to develop encompass foundational and cutting-edge medical science topics, emphasize the linkage between principles of basic science as well as the clinical significance and application of these principles.
At present, thousands of learners take the courses, including students from international and domestic medical schools, industry professionals, and many others from over 100 countries. Dr. Parker and his team are actively expanding their courses and collaborations. The HMX courses are now full credit offerings within Harvard Medical School and credits are also being offered via partnerships with external organizations as well.
Dr. Parker has received local and national recognition for his work.
