BIOE Colloquia: Measuring the Rare

Stephanie Zhang Postdoctoral Research Fellow Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School Abstract: Biology often communicates through faint signals that evade conventional measurement, particularly in early disease or transient immune states. In this talk, I will highlight a set of complementary approaches that enable ultrasensitive detection and new ways to interrogate rare and heterogeneous biological signals. These platforms have been applied across diverse contexts, including early cancer detection, immune monitoring, and neurodegenerative disease.
