This course emphasizes a current focus of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), how it effects its members, academia, and government affairs.
Legislative Loupes for Pediatric Dental Practitioners
During this course, we will discuss how public policy is created through the role and processes of the legislative and executive branches of Texas government. It will include a recap of the 86th legislative session and the legislation affecting dentistry that was introduced and passed. We will also discuss pediatric sedation rules and regulations for dentists and office protocols. The course will focus on the role that citizen engagement plays in shaping public policy and providing attendees with the skills necessary to be effective advocates for pediatric dentistry. In closing, the course will discuss organized dentistry's role in the legislative process and what Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry is doing for its members.
