Event Description

TEPHI Talks Seminar Series presents a free webinar with

Justen Noakes, Director of Emergency Preparedness for H-E-B

May 25 at 1 p.m.
Register here

The COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted commercial supply chain operations and associated services in an extreme and challenging manner. One major, Texas-based grocery chain, H-E-B, anticipated the arrival of the virus in the U.S. and took early steps to mitigate its impact.

Mr. Noakes will discuss how H-E-B anticipated and responded to the most significant infectious disease outbreak of the 21st century. Join the webcast and learn more about the operational lessons learned and how H-E-B’s experience can inform supply chain management and pandemic preparedness. Questions may be submitted during registration or live, during the webinar.

About the Speaker
Justen Noakes has served the H-E-B grocery chain as its director of emergency preparedness for the last 17 years. His responsibilities include company-wide mitigation, planning, response, and recovery programs for natural and human-caused interruption incidents for 120,000 employees, 350 grocery retail stores, 30 warehouse and manufacturing facilities, and over 30 corporate sites across Texas. Among his professional recognitions are two appointments by the governor: the Business Advisory Council at the Texas Division of Emergency Management and the Private Sector Advisory Council at the Texas Department of Public Safety.

About TEPHI:
The Texas Epidemic Public Health Institute (TEPHI) is a network of public health professionals and resources that will ensure the state is at the forefront of pandemic readiness and response to keep Texans safe and the economy strong. More Information at https://tephi.texas.gov.
