Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, masters, doctoral and professional degrees. McGovern Medical School

The University of Texas John P. and Kathrine G. McGovern Medical School at Houston is fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics

The health informatics accreditor of the D. Bradley McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College's accreditation for the master's degree in health informatics has been reaffirmed through 2026. Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences

At The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences:

The UT Genetic Counseling Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling. Upon completion of the program, graduates are expected to be proficient in the Practice Based Competencies set forth by the ACGC.  By graduating from an accredited genetic counseling program, alumni are eligible to sit for the board certification examination from the American Board of Genetic Counseling. AAHRPP (Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs) 

UTHealth Houston and our Human Subjects Research Protection Program have been awarded full accreditation by the AAHRPP (the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs).  AAHRPP accreditation represents the gold standard for the conduct of human subjects research and is based upon the demonstration that an institution is committed to providing the highest level of assurance for the protection of the safety and well-being of individuals who participate in human subjects research.   [ learn more ]

AAALAC

AAALAC International is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs. Every 3 years the UTHealth undergoes a self-study and an external peer-review of the institutional animal care and use program to ensure the administration, our funding agencies, and the public that the institution is maintaining high standards that are consistent with federal laws, guidelines and policies relating to the use of experimental animals in biomedical research.
