Chelby Aledia

Chelby Aledia, MBA, is the Sr. Grants and Contracts Specialist for the Fetal Institute. Her career in the Texas Medical Center began in 2021 at UT Health Houston, where she served as Grants and Contracts Specialist for the School of Public Health.  She managed a post-award portfolio of 20+ sponsored projects, negotiated sun-awards, realigned salary and non-salary cost centers, adjusted budgets for personnel actions, and assisted PIs with post-award administration and coordination. Further enriching her professional path, Ms. Aledia earned her Master of Business Administration from University of Houston Downtown and excelled as a Grant Program Coordinator at MD Anderson Cancer Center. There, she has been independently administering 6-+ active NIH, CPRIT, DOD and foundation projects, routing proposals, JIT packages, RPPRs, and NCEs, building muti-year budgets and projections, and negotiating sub-award scopes and amendments
