Catherine Marfin

Catherine Marfin joined the Media Relations Team as a Senior Media Relations Specialist in September 2025. Previously, she has reported on legal and legislative affairs, as well as everything from COVID-19 to crime to community events in Dallas. In 2021, she was awarded The Dallas Morning News Breaking News Reporter of the Year.

Catherine received her bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations, a minor in sociology, and a certificate in forensic science from The University of Texas at Austin, where she worked as a managing editor for the Daily Texan. She is currently pursuing a Master of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s School of Law.
