The UTHealth Houston Fetal Institute advances fetal health research, education, and care across Houston and beyond. Located in the Texas Medical Center, the institute partners cross-institutionally and its reach spans medical, nursing, and scientific fields.

Research Spotlight: Ramesha Papanna, MD

Under the direction of Ramesha Papanna, MD, the UTHealth Houston Fetal Institute is dedicated to accelerating fetal health innovations to become the leading institution for groundbreaking fetal support. Dr. Papanna's work includes a first-of-its-kind treatment for spina bifida that has shown improved neurological outcomes, as well as translational research for treatments of vasa previa, twin-twin transfusion syndrome, and placenta accreta.
