At UTHealth, the Mobility Program enables eligible employees to apply pre-tax income deducted from their paychecks to their Metro Q-Card or Woodlands Express or Fort Bend Express monthly pass. The program also allows for participation in a METRO Star Van Pool in which the subsidy is paid directly to METRO.  In an effort to promote employees’ mass-transit commuting, UTHealth reinstated a program in May 2017, to subsidize METRO, The Woodlands Express and Fort Bend Express ridership to a maximum of 300 participants. Those participants will receive a 60 percent UTHealth-provided subsidy (capped at $55 per month) in support of their commuting costs. Other participants utilizing pre-tax deductions will be placed on a wait list for the subsidy and will be notified should a spot become available.

To participate in the Mobility Program, you must meet the eligibility requirements as found in HOOP 131 and further documented in the Acknowledgement of Obligation. If eligible, complete and submit the Acknowledgement of Obligation and either the Payroll Deduction Agreement or the METRO Star Van Pool Subsidy Agreement to the Mobility Program Coordinator at Mobility@uth.tmc.edu.
