Commute with Confidence

Commute Solutions/Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) offers what transportation providers such as METRO, METROStar (van pool), Fort Bend Express, and Woodlands Express are doing to make commuting to work as safe as possible.

At UTHealth, the Mobility Program enables eligible employees to apply pre-tax income deducted from their paychecks to their Metro Q-Card or Woodlands Express or Fort Bend Express monthly pass. In an effort to promote employees’ mass-transit commuting, UTHealth reinstated a program in May 2017, limited to 300 participants, to subsidize METRO, The Woodlands Express and Fort Bend Express ridership to a maximum of 300 participants. Those participants will receive a 60 percent UTHealth-provided subsidy (capped at $55 per month) in support of their commuting costs. Other participants utilizing pre-tax deductions will be placed on a wait list for the subsidy and will be notified should a spot become available.

To participate in the Mobility Program, you must meet the eligibility requirements as found in HOOP 131 and further documented in the Acknowledgement of Obligation. If eligible, complete and submit theAcknowledgement of Obligation and Payroll Deduction Agreement without Subsidy to the Mobility Program Coordinator at Mobility@uth.tmc.edu.
