You Spoke, We Listened
Last year's attendees shared that their favorite parts of the event were:
- Meeting students from across all UTHealth schools
- Interactive activities like Bingo and Lotería (due to unforeseen circumstances, Lotería could not return this year)
- Learning about campus resources and services
- Food, giveaways, and prizes
Students also shared ideas for improving future events. Here's what we heard and how we worked to address those suggestions this year:
Clearer Check-In Process
Feedback: Check-in instructions were not always easy to locate.
What We Changed:
- Added additional check-in signage and flyers at multiple entrances to help students find the check-in table more easily.
Prize Drawings and Giveaways
Feedback: Students wanted more opportunities to win prizes without needing to stay for the entire event.
What We Changed:
- Added early prize drawings throughout the event.
- Students are no longer required to remain for the event's entirety to be eligible for all prize drawings.
More Interactive Activities and Opportunities to Connect
Feedback: Students wanted additional games and more opportunities to meet students from other schools.
What We Changed:
- While space and time limitations made it difficult to add significantly more activities to this event, we are planning additional opportunities for interschool engagement this spring.
- Stay tuned for an upcoming All-School Competition in partnership with the Rec Center, where students from all schools will have opportunities to compete, connect, and earn points for their school.
Food and Beverage Options
Feedback: Students requested additional food options and greater variety.
What We Changed Because of Your Feedback
- Switched to a new meal vendor that offers more menu options.
- Due to budget limitations, beverage offerings remain similar to previous years.
Seating, Space, and Event Flow
Feedback: Students requested more seating, gathering space, and improved traffic flow.
What We Changed:
- Although budget constraints prevented us from expanding into a paid/outside UTHH venue or adding rental tables/chairs, the event layout was redesigned to make better use of the available space and improve overall traffic flow.
Keep the Feedback Coming!
More than 95% of last year's respondents said the event helped them feel at least somewhat more connected to the UTHealth community, and many discovered resources they were not previously aware of.
Your feedback directly shapes future student programming. Whether this is your first time attending or you're returning from a previous year, we encourage you to complete this year's survey and let us know what worked well and what could be improved. Every suggestion helps us create a better experience for future students. Based on feedback from last year’s Post-Event Survey, many of the changes made this year were inspired by recommendations from students.
Thank you for joining us at Salutation 2026!
