We are delighted to invite early career epilepsy researchers to submit a 200-word abstract for consideration to present at the upcoming EpiEx Conference for Young Researchers on May 7, 2026. This conference will highlight the best epilepsy-related research within the Texas Medical Center. The invitation is open to medical students, undergraduate students, graduate students, residents/fellows, post-doctoral students and early career faculty (within 2 years of starting positions).
We encourage you to submit your abstract for consideration and look forward to potentially welcoming you as a presenter at our conference. Accepted researchers will be invited to submit a poster presentation at the May 7th session with the top 6 researchers being selected to present a 10-minute oral platform presentation. We will also be offering a cash prize and plaque for selected awardees.
Presenting at our conference will provide you with the opportunity to showcase your work, engage with peers in the field, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and understanding of epilepsy.

- Oman Magaña-Tellez, PhD: “Premortem Sleep and Sleep Related Biomarkers of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP)”
The remaining applicants were invited to present their work during a poster session preceding the awardee presentations, and we were very pleased that 12 applicants were able to present posters.
