TEAM Program
The Texas Elder Abuse and Mistreatment (TEAM) Program is an interprofessional collaboration between UTHealth Houston and local, statewide, and national partners with a collective mission of reducing the incidence and negative outcomes of elder mistreatment. TEAM focuses on:
- Increasing evidence-informed cross-sector elder mistreatment identification
- Designing evidence-informed cross-sector interventions
- Increasing elder mistreatment awareness and justice
- Providing forensic assessment support for Adult Protective Services
- Providing cost-effective and accessible mental health treatment for elder mistreatment survivors
- Training interprofessionals on elder mistreatment best practices
Patient Priorities Care
Patient Priorities Care is an evidence-based approach that allows older adults to identify what matters most to them. Patient Priorities Care focuses on:
- Actionable and realistic health care goals patients want their health providers to help them achieve.
- Helping patients identify the obstacles that are preventing them from achieving those goals.
- Working with health providers to ensure patients receive care for the concerns that matter most to them.
Geroscience Research
The mission of the Geroscience Core is to pioneer leading-edge scientific inquiry into the fundamental processes of aging and promote innovative strategies to enhance healthspan and longevity. Grounded in a commitment to advancing human well-being, our multidisciplinary team of researchers strives to unravel the intricate mechanisms underlying aging, translating discoveries into transformative interventions.”
