Funding for pilot projects

The CCTS Pilot Projects program annually awards grants of up to $50,000 each to be used as pilot funding for one of multiple initiatives that support clinical and translational research. These include junior faculty pilot awards for independent clinical and translational research projects, hypothesis-driven preclinical research pilot awards to generate preliminary data for investigator-initiated trials, and community engagement pilot awards for our community partners to work in teams with our academic investigators. Basic-science studies and studies for which the applicant currently has funding will not be considered.  Proposals that involve collaborative teams from several CCTS institutions/schools-UTHealth schools, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, UT Tyler Health Science Center, UT Rio Grande Valley, Rice University, and Memorial Hermann Hospital-are encouraged.
