LaTanya Love, MD, serves as executive vice president of student and university affairs at UTHealth Houston. In this role, she provides strategic leadership and oversight of student life and human resources. She works collaboratively with stakeholders to implement policies, programs, and services that enhance the overall student and employee experience, foster academic success, and promote a healthy campus culture.

Love partners with leaders at each of the seven schools to promote employee and student wellness initiatives, as well as the university’s mission in the community. She also works to ensure the quality and effectiveness of student services and other programs that foster a safe and productive work environment.

Love completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at UTHealth Houston in 2004, and a chief residency in 2005. She was recruited to the faculty as an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical School and, shortly after, joined the leadership team in Admissions and Students Affairs at the medical school. Her previous role as medical director of Student Health Services sparked her clinical interest in student well-being and resilience. Love also currently serves as dean of education at McGovern Medical School.
