Member Spotlight: Nikita “Niki” Jones

The University Classified Staff Council (UCSC) is excited to celebrate Nikita “Niki” Jones as our featured Member Spotlight. Nikita is super thrilled about being selected and shared that she joined UCSC to “make a difference.” She wanted to be a voice for the staff who felt their concerns were not being heard. Nikita serves on the Staff Development Committee.

Nikita started her career with UTHealth Houston in the UT Physicians Jensen Multi Specialty Clinic in May 2018. She has since advanced her career by joining the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in March 2022 where she proudly serves as a Financial Counselor/Sr. Patient Access Representative. Nikita is proud of her work and enthusiastic as is represented by her 6 years of state service. She is looking forward to what the future holds for her here at UTHealth Houston! 

“I would like to mention all my friends at Jensen, they are an awesome team. The team at UT Physicians Sickle Cell is an amazing staff; the Financial Counselors are beautiful ladies inside and out. I am now a part of the OB-GYN, my new family. They are such wonderful, talented, and knowledgeable young ladies with an amazing and knowledgeable Director, Susan Troullier” Nakita shared. 

Nikita is an action movie fan! Two of her all-time favorite movies are “Alien” and “Jaws.” Her all time favorite passion is spending time with her family and friends. She surrounds herself with the joys of her life, her 3 children; quiet son Darius (38), outgoing daughter Jomeika (36), committed son Trevion (33) and her 7 grandchildren; Jasmine (16), Jeremy Jr (14), Kalia (9), Khai (8), Kaeson (7), Kade (3) and Kannen (1). 

One of her favorite memories is hanging out with my 5 best friends. “We have known each other since elementary school. We were in Austin visiting before the pandemic and we had a blast. We stayed up talking all night, went to a play, went hiking, took lots of pictures, ate, and shopped”. They call themselves “the five heartbeats, not the singing group, but five hearts of a true and genuine friendship/sisterhood of 46 years!”
