Awards Committee
The Awards Committee is charged with the development of comprehensive procedures and standards to regulate all areas of UTHealth institution-wide awards, recommending a candidate for the President's Scholar Award using the guidelines for the selection process, develop guidelines for the selection process and recommending candidates for Presidential Medals and advising the President and Executive Vice Presidents on issues related to honors and awards.
Interfaculty Council
Effective September 1, 2025, by operation of Senate Bill 37 of the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) Interfaculty Council (IFC), as described within these webpages, is abolished, and a new interim President's Faculty Advisory Committee has been established. Any references to the role of the IFC in UTHealth Houston administration, policy, and/or governance will be managed as directed by the President. [ learn more ]
University Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee
The University Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee is has a responsibility to the institution for maintaining a faculty of excellence and to the candidate for recognizing, encouraging and rewarding achievement. The Committee, in its recommendation to the Dean, will have the responsibility for evaluating the level of achievement which is required within a given track for faculty promotion and for the award of tenure, if applicable.
