Awards Committee

The Awards Committee is charged with the development of comprehensive procedures and standards to regulate all areas of UTHealth institution-wide awards, recommending a candidate for the President's Scholar Award using the guidelines for the selection process, develop guidelines for the selection process and recommending candidates for Presidential Medals and advising the President and Executive Vice Presidents on issues related to honors and awards. 

Interfaculty Council

The Interfaculty Council was established in 1981 as the representative body of the faculty of all the schools to the President. Ex officio members serve as non-voting members.  The IFC acts in an advisory capacity to the President on issues related to faculty governance and academic affairs, faculty status, rights and responsibilities as well as administrative affairs.  [ learn more ]

University Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee

The University Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee is has a responsibility to the institution for maintaining a faculty of excellence and to the candidate for recognizing, encouraging and rewarding achievement. The Committee, in its recommendation to the Dean, will have the responsibility for evaluating the level of achievement which is required within a given track for faculty promotion and for the award of tenure, if applicable.
